En préambule, un clin d’œil à la communauté Flickr ayant favorisé indirectement cette rencontre. Site de partage de photos et de vidéos permettant aux utilisateurs de présenter leurs photos personnelles, il est aussi fréquemment adopté par des photographes et créateurs professionnels. C’est pour cette raison que notre galerie "à la campagne" a voulu, dès le début de son ouverture en décembre 2005, se mettre en réseau grâce à ce site Web. Une possibilité supplémentaire consiste à participer à des groupes thématiques précis, c’est ainsi que nous avons réussi à communiquer avec beaucoup de créateurs et galeries d’art. La réunion d’artistes que nous invitons en ce début du mois d’octobre est la concrétisation de cette envie d’ouverture.

Nous avons l’honneur de recevoir deux artistes néerlandaises, une artiste française et une artiste japonaise pour une exposition s’intitulant " Papier 紙".

Après le dessin, le monotype, la gravure, l’estampe et le texte, notre espace de présentation donne l’occasion à ces artistes, utilisant le papier, de venir y accrocher et montrer différentes manières de créer avec ce matériau.

L’exposition évoquera des pratiques et traditions singulières, elle va réunir les œuvres de quatre artistes qui utilisent des techniques de découpage, de collage, de montage et d’animation à des fins distinctes.

Manipulation, découpe, tissage et assemblage sont ici sollicités afin de proposer aux néophytes comme aux amateurs avertis ou aux collectionneurs chevronnés d’images, une réunion variée d’"objets" à "conception ajoutée". Des techniques en apparence commodes, souvent avec juste l’usage de ciseaux ou autres cutters sont à l’œuvre, les artistes jouent avec la matière, les formes et les couleurs. Ainsi, il y aura cette fois rencontre de plusieurs approches :

Les collages de Maartje Jaquet et en collaboration avec Judith Koning des films stop motion. Ces deux artistes sont néerlandaises, elles exposent régulièrement leur travail à Amsterdam et dans les Pays-Bas.

Maartje Jaquet a déjà exposé des photographies et des « one minute vidéos » au Poulailler en avril-mai 2011. Depuis l’an dernier son travail se déploie vers la pratique du collage qu’elle a déjà exposée à Amsterdam.

Les tissages de Charlotte Moufti réalisés avec des fils de papier qu’elle agence en utilisant une pratique ancestrale japonaise et ses "objets" fabriqués avec du journal. Cette artiste a récemment terminé ses études à l’académie des Beaux-arts de Tournai en Belgique. Au travers des pièces qu’elle exposera, il sera question du temps enrichi de son approche concrète et sensible du matériau.

Les découpages de Tsuji Keiko, artiste illustratrice Tokyoïte, sont conçus pour réaliser au moyen de simples ciseaux des illustrations. Dans des surfaces en papier d’origines diverses, elle agit directement dans la matière. Elle fait surgir, dans les supports qu’elle choisit et en fonction de son motif, de petits personnages.

Sa technique permet à Tsuji Keiko * de capturer de façon originale une attitude et de maîtriser la présence de personnages. En jouant au travers la forme des lettres et des aplats de couleur, elle donne naissance à des silhouettes légères, délicates. Avec son art du papier découpé, les contours se libèrent, se rencontrent, dialoguent et composent un univers ludique débordant d’humour et de poésie.

Depuis 1998, ses œuvres sont exposées dans de nombreuses expositions de groupe et dans des galeries à Tokyo, Nagano, Kyoto… En 2010 pendant l’exposition "Pop Up Reading Paradise Exhibition" à Hong Kong, en 2012 à la National Academy of Art de New-Delhi. En septembre 2014, en compagnie d’Okoso Yuko, Tsuji Keiko présente une exposition intitulée "Cut!" à Kanagawa, et en octobre à Osaka.

At first, let’s give a nod of appreciation to the Flickr community having indirectly initiated this meeting. This Web Site for sharing photos and videos allowing users to submit their personal pictures is also frequently adopted by photographers and creative professionals. It is for this reason that our gallery "in the countryside" wanted from the beginning of its opening in December 2005, to form a network through this Web site. An additional possibility is to participate in specific thematic groups; it is why we have been able to communicate with a lot of creators and art galleries. The meeting of artists we invite at the beginning of October is the realization of this need for communication interaction.

We are proud to welcome two Dutch artists, a French artist and a Japanese artist for an exhibition entitled "Paper 紙".

After having presented drawing, monotype, etching, printmaking and poetry, our presentation space provides the opportunity to these artists, using paper, to hang and demonstrate different ways to create with this material.

The exhibition will display practices and other traditions; it will bring together the masterpieces of four artists who are using the techniques of cutting, pasting, editing and animation for different purposes.

Manipulation, cutting, weaving and assembling are presented here, not only to interest newcomers but also keen enthusiasts or collectors of Art work, a mixture of varied "objects", innovations to conventional ”design ". Simple techniques, often with just the use of scissors or cutters are displayed; the artists play with material, shapes and colours. So, there will be this time, an exhibition of several techniques:

The collages by Maartje Jaquet, in collaboration with Judith Koning ‘stop motion movies’. These two artists are Dutch, who regularly exhibit their work in Amsterdam and in the Netherlands.

Maartje Jaquet has already exhibited photographs and "one minute videos" at the Poulailler in April-May 2011. Since last year her work leans towards the Art of collage that she has already exhibited in Amsterdam.

The weavings of Charlotte Moufti made with paper yarn that she combines using an ancestral Japanese Art and her "objects" manufactured with newspaper. This artist has recently completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tournai in Belgium. Through the masterpieces she will exhibit, her practical and sensitive approach of the material will be unfolded.

The cut-outs of Tsuji Keiko, artist illustrator Tokyo, are designed to achieve illustrations by the simple use of scissors. On different surfaces of paper of various origins, she acts directly with the material. She creates, in the media she chooses and depending on its pattern, manipulates small characters.

Her technique allows Tsuji Keiko * to capture in an original way an attitude and to control the presence of characters. By playing through the shape of letters and of the solid areas of colour, she creates light and delicate silhouettes. With her art of paper cutting, the outlines are free, meet, interact and make up a universe overflowing with playful humor and poetry.

Since 1998, her masterpieces are exhibited in many group shows and in galleries in Tokyo, Nagano, Kyoto ... in 2010 during the exhibition "Pop Up Reading Paradise Exhibition" in Hong Kong, in 2012 to the National Academy of Art in New Delhi. In September 2014, with Okoso Yuko, Tsuji Keiko presents an exhibition entitled "Cut!" at Kanagawa and in October in Osaka.

まず、この4人の出会いのきっかけを作った Flickrコミュニティに感謝の意を表したいと思います。個人が写真や動画を投稿しシェアできるこのサイトは、写真家やクリエイティブなプロフェッショナルにも多く利用されています。“田舎町にある” 当ギャラリーが、オープン当初の2005年12月より、このサイト上でのネットワーク作りに積極的だったのは、このためです。Flickrでは特定のテーマに沿ったグループを作成・参加することができ、わたしたちはこれらを通じ、数多くのクリエイターやアートギャラリーと交流してきました。10月初旬、こういった活動を通じてアーティスト集めて展示会を行うというオープン当初からの願いが形になります。 このたび、2人のオランダ人、フランス人、そして日本人のアーティストを招き「Paper-紙」と題された展示会を開催する運びになりましたことに、大きな喜びを感じています。これまでモノタイプ版画、銅版画、製版、詩などの展示を行った本ギャラリーにおいて、今回の参加アーティスト達には、紙を使ったあらゆる創作の形を披露していただきます。本展示では、伝統的なものを含め様々な手法が用いられます。4人のアーティストたちにより、切り絵、コラージュ、モンタージュ、アニメーションなどの技法が駆使されます。 マニピュレーション、切り絵、織り、組み立てなどの技法、そして様々な素材の組み合わせ、革新的なデザインは、新しいお客様だけでなく、熱心な愛好家やコレクターたちの興味をも掻き立てるでしょう。アーティストたちは、鋏やカッターなどを使ったシンプルな技法で、様々な素材や形や色と戯れた作品作りを披露してくださいます。 マールチェ・ジャケットの作品は、ユーディット・コーニンクとのコラボレーションによるストップモーションムービーです。2人はオランダのアーティストで、定期的にアムステルダムやその他オランダ国内で作品の発表を行っています。 マールチェ・ジャケットは、2011年4月から5月にかけて Le Poulailler にて写真や1分間のムービー作品の展示を行いました。昨年よりコラージュの要素が強くなってきており、アムステルダムで発表を行ってきています。 シャルロット・ムフティは、日本の古い美術作品や新聞紙を使った紙の糸を使って織物に仕立てます。ベルギーのトゥルネー美術アカデミーを修了したばかりのムフティは、実践的で繊細なアプローチを披露してくれるでしょう。 東京の作家・辻恵子による切り絵は、ハサミひとつでイラストレーションを浮かび上がらせます。様々な柄の紙のうえに、選んだ紙の模様のなかから、小さな人物たちを見つけるのです。 辻の独創的な技法では、紙面上の文字や色の面の間を、遊ぶように鋏が進み、軽やかでデリケートな人物たちのシルエットを生み出します。彼女の切り絵は、自由で、遊び心とおかしみがあり、詩的な世界感を作り上げます。 1998年以来、彼女の作品は東京・長野・京都など日本国内の様々なギャラリーで、また海外では2010年に香港の "Pop Up Reading Paradise Exhibition"、2012年にインドの国立美術アカデミーにて展示されてきました。2014年9月から10月にかけては、大社優子との2人展「Cut!」が神奈川と大阪で開催されます。 簡単なご紹介になりましたが、10月に Le Poulailler にて開催されるこれらのアーティストたちの作品を見に、お越しいただけることを願っております。
